Recent Sanctions-related UN Resolutions
10 July 2008 – With resolution 1823 the Security Council decides to lift the sanctions imposed by resolution 1011 (1995) and dissolve the Committee established pursuant to resolution 918 (1994) concerning Rwanda.
28 March 2007 – With resolution 1749 the Security Council determines that the measure previously imposed by paragraph 11 of resolution 1011 (1995) shall be terminated. According to that earlier decision states had to notify the Committee of all exports from their territories to Rwanda, and the government of Rwanda had to register and notify the committee of all such imports.

Background
Security Council resolution 918 (1994), adopted
in May 1994, imposed an arms embargo against Rwanda and established a Committee
to monitor its implementation. Resolution 1011 (1995) lifted the embargo
for the Government of Rwanda, but retained it with regard to non-governmental
forces.
